Two months after I submitted my final assignment, and I am now an official graduate of the University of Brighton, coming away with 2:1 in Criminology and Sociology...Not too shabby (even if I do say so myself).
After finishing my degree, I decided to enjoy a very self-indulgent couple of months in Brighton rather than returning to the overwhelming excitement of my home town straight away (Ha!). My time was predominantly spent on the beach dodging the seagulls whilst I attempted to make the most of the city I had called home for the past three years. However, as all good things do in fact seem to come to an end, my post-university holiday period was soon brought to a close by my graduation (and in all honesty, my serious lack of funds after living without the support of my much loved student loan).
Graduation came as a bittersweet occasion, with the celebrations held becoming tinged with the realisation my student life had well and truly come to an end. I had barely thrown my hat and downed a prosecco before my parents began to pack my life into the boot of their car. By 5 o’clock on gradation day all I was left with was my duvet and a suitcase to my name in Brighton.
As the post-university reality began to sink in, I decided to seek out the positive in what seems at present a fairly negative situation, with this blog (hopefully) being a good place to start. And so “A Game of Student Loans” was formed (And no, I make no apologies for the whopper of a cheesy pun title!) So stick with me as I try to make sense of the world as a currently unemployed graduate...
